What Fields Do You Require?

I get asked frequently if the required fields in the application can be modified. First-time users notice right away that the only 2 required fields initially are Title and Project. What if your organization has some other fields that are mandatory to capture? VersionOne allows you to create custom fields, but does the application allow you to make these fields required?

Of course it does!

Let’s take for example our Summer Release. We introduced a new Epic Bubble Chart to help visualize the SWAG, value and complexity of your initiatives. This Bubble Chart is very powerful but in order to utilize the chart, certain fields have to be captured.

This short video will show you how to make a field required.

  1. I can’t tell you how much time I spend cleaning up data because I cannot make fields required only for a specific project. At a large organization there will be hundreds of projects and it will be impossible to get approval for any field to be required globally across every project. This is a major problem and disadvantage of the tool. Is there any plans to change this?

Josh thank you for this great feedback. This has been something that’s been brought up on our IdeaSpace. I would urge you to vote on this so this can get closer to being in our backlog.
